Central Entropy is an electronic data set that contains oceanographic variables for a geographic slice at a resolution of 4 km in the Arc/Info ASCII.ASC format [Sea Surface Temperature (SST), Chlorophyll Concentration (Chl-a), NetPrimary Production (NPP), Export fraction of carbon rate (ef_fraction) and Bathymetry]. Geographic slices are from 50.01 North, 14.941 South to 134.956, 75.278 West. Partial geographic slices of The Eastern Pacific Ocean are included. The Arc/Info ASCII.ASC format is compatible with the MaxEnt software or “Maximum Entropy”, so geographical slices can be use in order to estimate Potential Ecological Distribution of marine species. To learn how to use the geographic slices availables here, I suggest youconsult the following technical reports File1 and File2.
